The eyewash equipment is started at least once a week to check whether it can operate normally, which can reduce the chance of sediment accumulation and the growth of microbial hazards in the stagnant water supply pipeline. For the movable eyewash, it is necessary to arrange for someone to check whether the reserved water source is sufficient every day. At the same time, it is recommended that the reserved water source be replaced once a day to ensure water quality. The eyewash equipment needs to be inspected once a year to check whether the equipment is in good condition.

For workers who have been exposed to hazardous operating environments for a long time, the equipment supplier should provide more technical guidance and the correct use of eyewash and shower equipment. Operators must be familiar with the location of emergency equipment, especially when emergency equipment or layout changes. Operators should be retrained regularly to remind them that the provision of emergency equipment cannot replace the use of basic personal protective equipment, such as protective glasses, face shields, protective gloves, and chemical protective clothing. For the maintenance and repair of eyewash and shower equipment, the manufacturer should provide corresponding technical training.
